Maui's Worst Storm in Years

Wednesday night we went to eat at the Hula Grill after seeing Tiki torches lit, only to find out that their outdoor bar and restaurant was closed for the first time EVER in the history of the restaurant (opened in 1992). Yesterday, we decided to drive around and see the devastation first hand of the storm, and we were surprised to see many roads still closed and flooded, power lines were being fixed, phone lines were down in some places - it was much worse than what we had originally called "rain".

We came across many mud slides, a house that almost lost it's grounding, an entire car that was crumpled up by the logs and limbs of trees that were running down the side of the mountain. We saw entire huge trees uprooted. Debris was everywhere. Everyone we talked to said they haven't seen a storm this bad since they've lived here. CRAZY weather! That said, we also took some amazing images of nature, farms, churches, and blue sky - I promise to post those later.
