Cory and I started out at their home where Shay was getting ready. When we knocked on the door, he answered looking cool, calm, and collected - he had just waken from a nap! I had gone to rehearsal the night before and knew that Lani might be a bit nervous so I thought it would help calm some nerves if Shay wrote a little note to Lani - which we delivered promptly upon arriving at the Hyatt where the bride was getting ready. Let me just say, all us girls thought his words were super romantic!
Lani looked amazing! I tore out this ad of Lani's dress so we could take a fun photo of her in her Badgley Mischka dress - the details on this gown were exquisite.
We headed outside to the Capitol Park to take some family photos. Lani's brother Derek had the good idea of adding a lucky penny in her shoe. We took some individual photos of both Lani and Shay before we had their first planned sighting. The sunlight was perfect!

The couple headed over the Saint Francis of Assisi in a cool vintage limousine. The sun went down and the light in the church created such a soft feeling. I have to say that they had one of the most romantic first husband and wife kisses!

Since we had already taken all the family photos, we headed straight away to the Firehouse in Old Sacramento. Each table was named after a character in Casablanca. There were candles everywhere. And the pianist played into the night. Their cake from Village Cake Shoppe was delicious. I won't say which brother this is - (faking) putting his finger in the cake!

I'll leave you with this image we took right outside the church in the darkness. I'm so happy for both Shay and Lani and we are so thankful you asked us to share in your day! Have fun when you leave on your honeymoon. You can see more of their Sneak Peak under our Clients page by using the password of "Lani_shay".
Some of the great vendors that Shay and Lani used are: the super fabulous Lora Word from A Day to Remember, the ever talented Cynthia Uranga from Eye for Detail Artistry and Sarah Acrich from Cuttings floral, Camellia String Quartet, John Williams (pianist), Kendra Pfeiffer of Pfeiffer Event Planning for stationary, Antique Limousine Company, Rhea Hao of Suede Salon, and Donna Guzman at the Firehouse. And finally, meet Trina, who joined us for the first time shooting today. We loved having you with us! Trina is working with the Memory Journalists as our wonderful post processor and I can't live without her now!
