Melanie and Nate tied the knot yesterday! We started with a few details and the girls getting ready at the
Hyatt in downtown Sacramento. Melanie and Nate's invitations were made very unique - they wrapped each one in sheet music. Later you'll see why this makes total sense (hint: Nate plays in a band). Joan from
Beautiful by Nature made the girls beautiful bouquets.
Melanie had received these thongs as a gift and was excited to be able to wear them on her wedding day. Melanie looked fabulous! She wore a simple gown made just for her by
Amy Kuschel Couture Bride.
We took the girls outside to the
Capital Park and before they melted, we captured a few fun images. I love the individual personality you see in the various size and shape of sunglasses that each girl wore.
We headed over to the ceremony and reception site at
Arden Hills Country Club. We quickly caught a few details, like the kiddy sacks on the guest tables made up of Mad Libs, Oreo's, Goldfish, Uno cards, and crayons and sketches of Nate and Melanie that they could color. And in lieu of favors, Melanie and Nate donated to the
Susan G Komen for the Cure Foundation.
The guys were playing playing pool when we arrived. Nate was darn handsome himself, don't you think?!
The ceremony brought out some smiles as the breeze picked up and had Melanie's veil blowing about. This image captured her laughter as they had to tuck in the tulle so that it wouldn't blow into her face.
Melanie smiled happily as they were pronounced Mr. and Mrs. Perkins for the first time.
Before the reception got into full swing, we were able to get a few minutes alone with the newlyweds. The waterfalls at Arden Hills make for a great backdrop.
The toasts were a plenty as each member of Nate's band reveled in embarrassing Nate just a bit. But it was all in good fun and brought on some good laughs.
Melanie and Nate opted for Italian style food and dessert. They choose tiramisu instead of traditional wedding cake. The presentation was beautifully set out.
Lynn sang the ballad Stay Together as Nate and Melanie enjoyed their first dance. Eventually, Nate with his trumpet and his dad with his guitar joined the band on stage to perform for their guests. The music had everyone on their feet. Congratulations Melanie and Nate!
