Movie Review

With our relaxing weekend in San Francisco, we were able to take in a few movies that we hadn't seen yet. Zodiac, Shooter, Flag of Our Fathers, and The Holiday. Thriller, Action, Historical Drama, and Romantic Comedy.

All four were good but my fav being the romantic comedy (The Holiday) of course! The combination of tears and laughter is a good mix. And when you get Jude Law and Jack Black both in the same movie - you can't lose. On the female side was Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz. This is one of those feel good movies - one I'll watch again.

Shooter starred Mark Wahlberg, Danny GLover, and Ned Beatty, among others. This film was directed by the same guy who did Training Day. It's an action-packed, revenge, shoot-out that doesn't leave you with a dull moment.

Zodiac was a bit harder to follow, but aren't all dark thrillers? It stars Mark Ruffalo, Robert Downey Jr., and Jake Gyllenhaal. This film is based on actual case files from one of the longest unsolved cases in California's history.

Flag of Our Fathers was directed by Clint Eastwood and produced by both Eastwood and Steven Spielberg. This movie was based on a bestselling book by James Bradley with Ron Powers and is about the lives of the men who were pictured raising the flag - the famous image used to create the war memorial in Washington DC. We're looking forward to watching the 2nd of Clint Eastwood's Iwo Jima movies - Letters From Iwo Jima.

We aren't much into t.v. watching, so movies is our thing. I bet we've seen 95 of the 100 titles on Netflix.
