Family Holiday

We just celebrated my brother-in-law's 30th birthday this last weekend. We escaped to the Napa Valley for 2 days - yes only 2 days - I wish it were longer. But alas, I had to come back to be here for the Cal Expo Dream Wedding Bridal Show. I wanted to show you a few pictures from our weekend, which was spectacular. We made advance reservations at a few wineries that are by appointment only. It's definitely worth the extra planning. The first image was taken at Chappallet Winery, located on the high hillsides 1200 feet above Napa Valley in the wonderful area called Pritchard Hill. Our tour guide, Mike, made this tour the best of all Napa Valley! It's very low key and you're made to feel very welcome. We love Chappallet Cabernet Sauvignon. Yummy!
The next three images were taken at the Rutherford Hill winery. It was amazing to walk through the wine-aging caves and minutes later to be outdoors surrounded by the daffodils. They offer the ability to blend your own merlot, which is what they are known for.
We also visited Sterling Vineyards, Far Niente Winery, and Chimney Rock Winery. And we of course didn't pass up the Napa Valley Wine Train murder/mystery dinner excursion. It was a good quick weekend with family!

Did I mention that we were testing out our new Fuji S5 camera? It was just released this last week and we're already super excited to use it at our weddings this year. It's amazing!
